Being Excluded Sucks!
Picked last or overlooked, the result is the same, it’s a major let down.
It’s easy to get lost in the me first mentality. But, when we do, we forget that there are other humans that make up our world, our culture, our lives.
By living exclusively, we are actually doing more harm than good, not just to the people being excluded, but to ourselves. We miss out on people that could have great and positive impacts on our lives. We miss the opportunity to expand our worldview and our cultural view. We live with blinders on and rumble through life and often times forget to enjoy the journey.
The people that enrich our lives, the ones that can help us reach new heights, come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
Challenge yourself to see people from the inside out. Evaluate them on the strength of their character before you are too quick to value someone based on their outward appearance.
When we include everyone in this wonderful life we were given, we brighten our spirits, we brighten the spirit of others and we make everyone’s load a little lighter to bear.
Challenge yourself to see past someone’s skin or outward appearance. Value them for the great human they are within. Who knows, they may surprise you if you give them a chance!
